Felix Dreyschock - Etude in g minor

Let’s start 2021 with a gorgeous totally forgotten gem, shall we? :-) I was immediately captured by the great melody in the right hand, with its uncertainties, going up a little, then down again, it just sounds interesting and very delicate and controlled, very serious. I don’t know why, but it just gives me goosebumps! The marking “Moderato“ instead of some “Allegro“ also shows that he knew what is up with this piece. It doesn’t have to be rushed, although it’s an etude. This is probably the first performance of this piece, in fact, I couldn’t find ANY performance AT ALL of a Felix Dreyschock piece on the whole of YouTube. What a shame! Interestingly, the publisher is Rozycki - I played some compositions of him already: Krakowiak - Intermezzo - Note the quality was not so good, might have to replay it ... But they are recordings.
