This time lapse starts out with a very beautiful, colorful view of the setting sun being swallowed by swirling fog.
After it got dark, I noticed a very bright, white meteor streaking to the West, which showed up in a single frame of the time lapse. I also noticed two other small meteors in the time lapse. For more info on meteor showers, click here:
The moon rose about an hour after it got dark and brightened the sky. Then it lit up the fog and hills after it rose above a ridge to the East.
This site was nicknamed “Eureka Ridge“ because a member of the Eugene Astronomy Society found it while looking for an observing site and said, “Eureka, I’ve found it!“ It promises to be a nice sunset spot as well.
The script used histogram metering, which turned out very smooth. The ND filter automatically switched out at the exact shutter speed it was supposed to, and the script compensated perfectly so it’s not noticeable.
