Sweetgrass Basket Tradition by Madelyn Hawver (Documentary for NHD 2014)

Madelyn Hawver’s 8th Grade National History Day Contest submission for 2014. Madelyn lives in Myrtle Beach, SC, and is 14 years old. From the hundreds of thousands of entries from across the United States, Madelyn’s documentary won first place in South Carolina and was invited to the National NHD competition in Washington D.C. at the Univ. of Maryland in June. She learned a tremendous amount from the experience and finished 11th in the United States. Way to go Madelyn! We are so proud of your accomplishments!
