Gewey & Chara • Out of the Woods

« survivors got to stick together. » From the MINUTE the credits rolled during Scream VI (really after Chara kissed and directly paralleled Gewey from Scream 2 if I’m being honest), I knew I HAD to make something with both of them. Originally it was going to be a different song, but I got stuck and decided to change to OOTW, which honestly fits them both SO we just forget about the whole Dewey actually dying I like to pretend that didn’t happen anyways, so it works. Gewey will always be THE Scream ship for me. And I hate what they did to them. It will probably always be my biggest gripe with the franchise. And not necessarily even killing him off, but breaking them up after their entire story arc in 4 being them having problems in their marriage but deciding ultimately that what they have is too important to lose and recommitting to each other. You’re telling me Gale stayed in a place she HATED for a decade for Dewey’s career only for him to not last two months and leave in the middle of the night when they inverse happened and they moved to NYC for hers? That’s not MY Dewey Riley. I would’ve much preferred them to have been on good terms and happy together when he died. Not waste the last few years they had not speaking while still in love with each ’ll end my rant there, because I could keep going. HOPEFULLY, Chara will get the happy ending that Gewey deserved. I know some people dislike them solely for that reason, and that’s fine. I just really like the idea of Chara being Dewey and Gewey’s legacy and they’re precious to me because in a way, Gewey lives on through them. Here’s to VII having more Chara maybe even have there be a moment where Gale looks at them together and you can tell she sees she and Dewey in them? I can dream, lol.
