Pyrrha Designs: German Short Rows

A demonstration of the German Short Row technique: On knit rows, work in pattern to “SR“, then knit one more stitch. Turn work, slip one stitch to RHN, bring the yarn over and around needle back to the working position for purling. Pull the yarn firmly to pull up the purl bump from the stitch below, creating an odd-looking double stitch. On purl rows, work in pattern to “SR“, then purl one more stitch. Turn work, bring the yarn to the front, slip one stitch to the RHN, then bring the yarn over the needle to the back, into the position for knitting. Pull the yarn firmly to pull up part of the stitch from the row below, creating an odd-looking double stitch. When working past the SR stitches, pick up both parts of the double stitch and work them together as one -- ie, knit them together, or purl them together.
