Parker had taken every step to distance himself from the Big Country sound, using one of the first electro Simmons kits, still utilising acoustic snare and HH, adding the Simmons snare and HH as flourishes. Chris Youdell still hadn’t bought the PPG2 Wave, which the first album benefits from (and which came direct from the German manufacturer).
