Hunter-farmer societies. A point on Iroquoian agriculture.

It is well known on Six Nations that standard practice back in the day was to plant twice as much as you would need in the expectation of depredation by deer and such, I’ve been thinking about this for a few years now, and in this video I thought I would share some thoughts on the subject. Beyond the practice of planting twice as much (which is common knowledge,) this is all just my personal speculation. It is not gospel and I can’t cite any references. Take it with a grain of salt, or don’t. It’s no skin off my nose either way. I suppose that this concept might also apply to other peoples, but I can’t comment on that as it is outside my frame of reference. I was originally going to lump this subject into my three sisters video, but it messed up the flow, and as such was excluded.
