India to manufacture and maintain S-400 air defense system domestically A highly placed source in the Indian defense industry said that the agreement between an Indian company and Russia’s S-400 manufacturer, Almaz-Antey, is nearing finalization. ◾️ So far, India has received three out of five S-400 squadrons. ◾️ These squadrons are already deployed to prevent cross-border air attacks. ◾️ Future plans include the production of spare parts in India, in collaboration with Russia’s Almaz-Antey. ◾️ The goal is to establish two maintenance centers and start spare parts production by 2028.
