Fitch Drops Bombshell on US Treasury Bonds - What it means for you!

It’s been a rollercoaster week in the world of finance. The Department of Labor unveils that a solid 187,000 jobs have been added to the mighty US economy last month. Yes, we were hoping for more, but progress is progress. Fitch has thrown us a curve ball. They’ve taken the audacious step of downgrading US Treasury bonds from the gold-standard AAA to a slightly lesser AA Plus. Flashback to 2011, the last time that this happened, and our markets had a bit of a meltdown. However, the S&P 500 is still holding its own above 4500.
