“Sheila’s Blues“ - Sheila Jordan
Detroit native Sheila Jordan is one of the most widely acclaimed jazz vocalists in the world. She performed with Charlie Parker and drew national attention with her recording of “You Are My Sunshine“ on George Russell’s classic album, The Outer View. In 1962, she became the first vocalist signed to Blue Note Records. At the Concert of Colors, she performed “Sheila’s Blues“ - a song that recounts an early encounter with Charlie Parker in the Motor City.
