Full title reads: “Building Battleships - Laying Keel of the ’Littorio’ at Genoa“. Genoa, Italy. Pan along the huge crowds gathered for the start of work on the new Italian battleship - the biggest in the world - Littorio. A Roman Catholic priest sprinkles Holy Water in the massive pieces of steel that will form the keel of the warship. The first steel girders are lifted into place by crane. Flying boats fly in formation overhead. LS of riveters as work. LS of the crowd. LS workers stand along the length of the keel to illustrate how big the ship will be. VS around the shipyard.
