We have tested the speed of Revit and Archicad by timing how long it takes for each application to copy many objects. The result is very interesting. We also ran a test of importing an IFC file, but this result is less surprising.
We have tried to make the test as objective as possible, running both applications on the same computer, restarting between each test. We had long time Revit expert, Simon Olafsson from IKT-lederne, to operate Revit, to make sure we did everything by the book.
Imagine if you spend 15 seconds waiting on your BIM application for every 5 minutes of work. This will add up to two full weeks of waiting each year!
