Sydney Barringer Los Angeles native Sydney Barringer aims to push boundaries, knock down borders, and join seemingly disjointed worlds through that oh-so-sovely thing.. Music, that is; the sound, air pressure, physical vibrations, rhythmic oscillations, and internal interpretations that we all hold so near and on the scene as ‘Ivory Tricks’; a live electronic act that has performed at venues such as Dao Anh Khanh Treehouse, TachSpace, and Arch, and has landed plays in the radiosphere via Hanoi Community Radio,where he now finds himself as host of the monthly radio show, “Tộc Âm”.As the sole creative director behind “GlobalTribe,“ his event series aims to push the scene forward, outward, and even inward, by showcasing club music that is rooted in, or representative of, the folk and traditional music of cultures around the world by carefully selecting DJs who are specialists in the respective sonic cultural newest endeavor, along with co-captainManuel Orkestar, is the “7-11 Sessions”, a monthly series showcasing world grooves with each and every event focusing on a specific theme, genre, or region of the his favorite sounds with crowds from Phú Quốc to Đà Nẵng and multiple clubs throughout Hà Nội, Barringer is non-genreconforming; truly a DJ that bleeds the words, “Music without Borders”.
