Kayaks were developed over a 5000 year period in Alaska, and were uniquely suited to the needs of the Eskimo and Aleut peoples. Based on an exhibition at the Alaska State Museum. A film made in conjunction with the Alaska State Museum exhibit that covers the history, culture, design, construction, uses, and techniques surrounding this unique northerm watercraft.
