Ilya Saz: Valse

(1875-1912). He studied at the Chernihiv Classical Men’s Gymnasium, but he was more attracted to listening to the performances of the brass band for hours. Only the singing teacher supported him in this, he informed his parents about the boy’s talent. Out of gratitude to the teacher, Ilya carefully studied with the less able students, but he was in the school infrequently - he was tolerated, because among the students he knew Latin and Greek the best. Ilya was left for the second year, and in 1890 he was expelled from the school, relations with his parents became strained, he ran away from home.
