USMC Takedown of Aidid’s Forces on 7 January 1993 Mogadishu, Somalia

On 7 January 1993, Somali Clan leader Mohamed Farrah Aidid engaged US Marines in a forty-minute firefight. This was the first major US offensive against Aidid’s men during Operation Restore Hope.
