Verreaux’s Eagle Owl with Freshly-killed Mongoose

Kruger National Park: November 2014 Verreaux’s Eagle Owl mantling over a fresh kill. This is the largest owl in Africa, and one of the distinguishing field marks are those pink eyelids! How cool is THAT?!?!
