Bachata Regional Styles is a workshop designed by Areíto Arts “Rhythm & Roots” to help students develop and/or enhance their understanding of Bachata dancing as found in some of the major regions of Dominican Republic. In this workshop we analyze certain stylistic videos from some of the most provinces in the country (San Pedro de Macorís, Villa Consuelo, Santo Domingo, and Bonao), as well as heavily Dominican populated cities abroad like New York. The focus of the class is on the framework, natural body movements, varied timings, upper body connection, syncopations and more advanced figures most common in each major region. 🇩🇴 *Disclaimer* Regional styles by no means serve to generalize any region but rather to shed light on some common elements of each.
