Zak Rahman - TIE Fighter - Interdictor [2015]

It’s available from my website: And also iTunes: And Bandcamp: The artist, Paul Johnson, requested a heavily guitar-based track for his animation. This was largely to fly in the face of the heavily overplayed soundtrack for the notorious Episode 1. Even to this day I associate the soundtrack for that film more with “Star Wars kid“ than I do with actual Star Wars. After talking with Paul, we decided that I would use a track I was working on called “The Surface“ () and use that as the basis for the project. None the less, I did take on board the musical score from the original trilogy as well as looking a little into Chopin and other composers. This piece was a great challenge as it had to be edited several times and rewritten in order to accommodate changes to the short. It has heavy inspiration from Iron Maiden, X Japan and many classical pieces. That and I wanted to capture some of the liveliness of music from real anime (stuff made in the 80s). ------
