Reel 2.
Intertitles have been scratched into the neg emulsion. Not printed intertitles. World War One. Large number of warships. “Views of the Hun Fleet.“ Men on deck looking at the camera. Panning shots of warships. Ships on the horizon with large amounts of smoke coming out of funnels.
Written on the film: “ German fleet lying at (?), Scapa Flow“ Men are helped from one ship to another. Written on film are the words: “No. 571 Seapower Part 1. Submarine Crews Surrendering at Harwich and going aboard British Vessels“. “Having surrendered their pirate crew.“ The other ship sails off. Lots of submarines above water. Goods are passed from one ship to another and men climb aboard.
Written in single frame of film are the words: “The embarking of Germany’s shame“ so these are presumably German prisoners of war.
