this world is so cruel, yet so beautiful.

starting 2022 with a shoddy attempt at an amv i made for tkt, aka, one of the most impactful osts I’ve ever heard. this audio is slowed and has a more cathedral/echo and is damp on purpose to imitate a ’hazy/summer dream’ vibe, headphones are recommended. i tried to put what i see when i hear tkt in a montage with regard to the series. when i first heard T-KT and its following leitmotif pieces, it changed me, i don’t know how to put it, but there’s something in this piece that makes me feel everything, and personally, i think this piece is the series stripped to its bare essence. it’s eren, it’s his desolate knowingness and cruelty in a beautiful world, it’s mikasa, her resilience and beauty in a cruel world, it’s armin, his tenderness, neverending curiosity and willingness to still wonder in a grey world. apart from the beautiful plot complexities, contentious takes on the ending, moral ambiguity, philosophy, and fabrications from the story, at the end of a day, all armin, mikasa and eren, wanted was to be happy and chase after each other. and these precious moments are what they hold closest to them. i cannot thank isayama enough for the past 9 years, snk is something i will remember for the rest of my life. this song is hopeful, haunting, reminiscent, new, light, and dark. just like life, this song is life put in notes.
