N. Korea claims to have successfully tested solid-fuel hypersonic IRBM

북한 “신형 중장거리 극초음속미사일 시험발사 성공“ North Korea has this morning claimed that it successfully test-fired a new type of solid-fuel intermediate-range ballistic missile, carrying a hypersonic warhead. The North’s state-run media said Wednesday that its leader Kim Jong-un oversaw the first test launch of the Hwasong-16 missile the day before, and that it was aimed at verifying the reliability of the weapon system. It claimed that all of North Korea’s missiles are now solid-fueled, nuclear-capable and tipped with maneuverable warheads.
