Rolling Stones - It’s All Over Now 1964 (cover by Nick Martellaro) [4K]

DONATE: #donate :) MP3s ISOLATED TRACKS ON PATREON: Well, everyone asked for Stones. Here it is! Brian Jones makes this song as his muted 12-string riff and secret vocal harmony fill in all the blanks. The man was a genius. Brian drenched his 12-string in reverb for both the intro and outro (Keith’s guitar has extra reverb as well), and I’m assuming he also overdubbed the sliding riff for the intro on a 6-string guitar. What’s particularly fascinating is that Brian’s intro/chorus chords all feature a bass note that isn’t the root - in the intro riff, you can clearly hear he plays a G note slide over the C. Similarly, the resounding chords in the chorus are Brian hammering D/A, C/G, and back to his muted country G riff. It’s almost like he invented the reverse power chord! I believe Brian also did an additional overdub on the record playing regular barre chords up the neck for extra power (you can see him playing this live).
