Slate Quarry Beware - Other Colour Pics Share This Title (1964)

Penrhyn, Wales. Work that takes place in a slate quarry. Views of the quarry. Various shots of men at work. We see them drilling holes in a rock face and placing gun powder inside the hole. Ballast follows it. The fuse is lit. Blasting takes place. Small explosion. Men climb down into the quarry then prise pieces of slate off the side of the quarry. Trucks carrying slate travel past the camera. The slate is transported via small trains and a hoist. Men then push the trucks of slate into the work room. Various shots of the slate being cut - both by hand and by machine. Edges are cut off by a machine. Parts of the slate quarry are to be preserved as ancient industrial monuments.
