Zaxxon - Sega/Gremlin Arcade Game Commercial Ad (1982)

Original ad for the Zaxxon arcade game released by Sega/Gremlin in 1982. Upon release in early 1982, Zaxxon wowed gamers with its groundbreaking 3D-style isometric graphics, but oddly enough, few screenshots of the actual game are shown in this ad. The game also featured a flight control stick with pistol grip and trigger firing action, which looked really cool but was known to cause wrist cramps after repeated plays. This commercial was probably the first time a video arcade game was advertised on television. The ad was produced by Paramount Pictures (the parent company of Sega at the time) and cost $150,000.
