Aphyosemion australe (hjerreseni) - the Golden Lyretail Killifish

It’s storytelling time. In today’s video I take you back to 1921 when Rachow described the natural form of the Aphyosemion australe, a fish discovered in rivers and ponds in a coastal strip between Congo and Gabon in Africa. After that we take a look at the golden orange form, that was created by German aquarium fish breeder Hjerresin in the 1950’s. Along the way I show you how Ulla and I keep and breed this beautiful little killifish. Hope you will enjoy the trip. If you do, please subscribe and ring the bell. Lot’s of new tales are in the pipeline.
