Performing Elephant (1937)

This is one of several stories found attached to 3rd reel of cuts for the documentary ’LURE OF THE EAST’. It may be the missing item PERFORMING ELEPHANT - 37/96. Titles read: “Hamburg“. An elephant wearing clothes wheels a pram about a town square and rocks it with her trunk. A large crowd of people watch. The elephant picks up a big dummy attached to a vat of milk and puts it in the pram. Whatever is in the pram drinks nearly all the milk. The elephant picks up some kind of animal (probably a dog) in a baby elephant suit from the pram and puts it on the ground. The creature runs off. Very weird and creepy. Cataloguer’s note: I find this sequence rather disturbing and unpleasant. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
