GeoPier Resumes, Megapack Progress, West WOW Yard expansion! 5 May 2023 Giga Texas Updates (07:35AM)

Gigafactory Texas on 5 May 2023! This is where Model Y’s are built and soon Cyber Truck production will start! Great day to fly and find interesting developments all over the site today! I was also joined by Patreons Terry & John Klapperich on site to discuss Giga Texas and their planned trip down to Starbase next! Great meeting you both! Timestamps: Drone flight overview with discussion & illustration: 0:06 to 6:59 Drone flight footage & infographics: 7:04 to 34:25 In the video introduction, I talk at length about the numerous major changes inside Giga Texas since Cyber Rodeo last year in April 2022, and I give some examples of how this is materializing. I also talk about 10 new permits related to this interior work and reconfiguration in order to install and assemble General Assembly lines #2 and #3 inside west and south ends of the building, on up to 4 internal floors! Some other interesting things you’ll see today include: GeoPier work has begun on the south end, joining the CFA Pile drilling as well. Most of the GeoPier work appears to be on the center of the south clearing, while the CFA piles are (so far) on the southeast stamping machine section corner area. The west support facility (west of the central highway) large, graded area shows significant progress, with more Geotextile membrane installation, gravel topping the Geotextile membranes and then top fill dirt, which is really great to see. The west main entrance reconstruction work continues, with more forms for concrete, the terraced shelving for potted plants on the two Cyber Berms, gravel, landscaping, and concrete “benches“ being installed and more work on the steel architectural items that emanate out from the glass doors. On the east side of Stamping, we see one of the last three blue-covered large stamping press components has now been moved into Stamping 2 for assembly! We also get some views into stamping 2, and although the lighting isn’t great, we can see yellow moisture barriers and rebar set out and ready for concrete. On the northeast corner of the casting machine section, we see many dozens of more castings amongst the wooden crates, some of which have been opened and are waiting for recycling. We also see another body-in-white waiting for recycling and continued work on the berm widening and electrical conduit installation. We also see two very large bridge crane rails being moved inside casting. The Megapack construction site shows tremendous progress with trenching and large sections of electrical conduit pipe (90-degree pieces and long pipes), and additional surveys and stake installation on the north end. On the south end, we see crews installing more storm water pipe, now heading to the east. Work in the Die shop today includes more progress with roof insulation and weatherproof membranes (now about 60% completed), the deep foundation has been backfilled with dirt and now yellow moisture barrier and rebar is set in place, almost ready to pour the slab around the deep foundation. The battery cathode cooling plant on the west side shows more progress, white work in the “alley way“ between the cathode and Die shop continues. On the east side, we see the seven-story platform with equipment has been fully assembled and the next step will be to move this very tall structure into the cathode plant itself.
