Rhonex Kipruto just absolutely destroyed Joshua Cheptegei’s 10km road race world record, setting a 26:24 time (unratified). Cheptegei obviously set a 26:38 time just a month or two ago. Kipruto also ran in adidas shoes rather than Nike Vaporflys, which is a big win for adidas, with the nike vaporflys getting all the headlines in 2019 with Eliud Kipchoge’s sub 2 INEOS marathon record being set in vaporflys, as well as Brigid Kosgei wearing them to break Paula Radcliffe’s longstanding marathon world record.
