Introductory intertitle reads: “The shades of Wall Street were falling fast, When up a sky-scraping flagpole passed, A man, who grimly climbed and climbed, and............ Well, just watch........“ Low angle shot of a man sitting on top of the dome of a very tall building. Camera pans around rooftops. There are skyscrapers so this is presumably an American city. Man climbs up a flagpole. Shot looking down on the man as he straddles the pole. Cars and people are visible below him. He clambers up like a little monkey and seems to be painting the pole. “He’s doing it to win £10, and if ever a motto fits, “Excelsior“ does here...“ Low angle shot of the domed building.
