Things Heat Up At The Hairless Chimps Enclosure

Jambo the hairless Chimp walking upright towards the house. He climbs inside and balances on the rope and pulls some faces. For those who know him, we grew to love him. He’s the alpha male and makes sure his troop knows it, but also he can be quite the romantic chimpanzee with the females. In the next part of the video ( the older clip) Jambo shows he’s in charge, running after the other chimps, kicking doors and showing his rival Kibali who’s the boss. When he climbs back up he inspects his foot and a yawn shows off his teeth. Please note, this is a video of old and new clips of Jambo. The question on your mind is, why is Jambo hairless? People also call him the “naked chimp”. Some people think they shaved him or that he is ill. The truth is, the ape has alopecia, a medical term for hair loss and he had it since adolescence.
