On October 7th, early in the morning, we awoke during our vacation to a sunny and tranquil day. The sea was calm, the sun was hot. As we checked our phones, the tranquility turned into shock, disbelief, anger, and pain. Over one and a half thousand of our compatriots, friends, and acquaintances had died or been kidnapped. The realization of this loss erupted from us in a wave of sounds.
The ethereal tones of the pantam sharply contrast and then meld into an unsettling duet of violin and cello. This unique combination of instruments exists in an uncommon genre globally.
This music encapsulates the storm of emotions experienced in October. And it holds a glimmer of hope for the peace and prosperity of our land.
