This cave has been on my list for years now, experiencing it and being able to have my photograph there made me say again the words “thank you Lord’ and “if this isn’t nice, then what is?”..   Prolly one of the highlight of our trip, and a must activity if you’re going to visit Yogyakarta.. coz aside from the stunning heaven like sun-rays and view inside the cave, it’s also physically demanding somehow and will really test your balance and patience, test of friendship it .    Also you will feel a lot of emotions in this activity from being scared and fearful at the start, frustrated somehow as you walk in the mud, ecstatic as you approached the hole, and being amazed as you see the sunlight.    But all in all.. its really worth it! The Joy and fun in this activity will definitely outweigh the fear and hardship..     —————————————————————   Key highlights in our experience: 1. Our descend around 60m deep into the cave – Totally scary at first but fun afterwards. 2. The walk in the mud! – can be challenging at first but once you learned the groove it will be very smooth especially going back. Technique.. you can hold hands with your travel buddies to attain balance. 3. The Ray of lights! – Totally majestic and surreal.    About Jomblang..   The journey will begin from Jomblang Cave. This is the most famous vertical cave to explore in Yogyakarta with its own mini forest inside the cave and heaven-like sun rays shining through the cave. A true lost world, Jomblang Cave is a collapsed sinkhole that’s part of a cave system that runs through Gunung Kidul, outside Yogyakarta. Visitors are lowered around 165 feet (50 meters) on a rope and then hike down a tunnel to the Grubug Cave, which is flooded with rays of sunlight.
