Brenda, 40 years of incest by brothers

Recovered memories are said to be controversial, when, in reality, it is common for memories of extreme trauma to be hidden away in the brain until such time as the survivor feels safe enough to remember. Brenda did not remember her most extreme abuse until she was in her 50’s, when she was finally safe. Which is harder to believe? Brenda’s recovered memories of extreme pain while being trafficked by her brothers (ages 15 to 30)? Or Brenda’s continuous memories of incest by her brothers (ages 5 to 48)? Abusers don’t want recovered memories to be recognized as valid. What abusers want is to be able to get away with horrific acts.
