Fashionable headdress for autumn with your own hands. I sewed a hat for the first cold weather
It’s getting cooler every day, and it already feels like the cold is just around the corner. It’s time to take care of the headdress. Already at 9 degrees it is somehow uncomfortable and I want to get warm.
In this weather, you need a light cap. And I also want the style to be not simple, but decorated with decorative elements.
The most popular colors are white and black, but you can take a multi-colored fabric. Knitwear fits well.
My hat today will not be sewn from a solid piece of fabric, but from several parts.
You will need one measurement: head circumference, this is the main parameter of the cap. It is measured just above the eyebrows, by 2 cm, further in a circle along the most prominent part of the nape. In my case it is 59 cm.
According to this scheme, I cut out the details of the cap. Along the line of the head circumference, it is necessary to make allowances of 1 cm on both sides for the seam. If the girth is 59 cm, 61 cm is cut out.
Stages of work:
1) One piece 18 cm wide was folded in half on the long side and stitched. The strip was turned out, the seam was placed in the middle. I smoothed out the allowances.
2) Retreated from the edge on one side 18 cm and made folds.
3) The second 18 cm wide strip was folded in half.
4) I attached a strip with drapery on top. Where the bend is, I combined two parts, and from above, where the open section of the second part is, 1 cm for the seam.
5) The 9x13 cm detail was also rolled up on the long side, stitched and turned out. Intercepted the folds of the loops in this way and secured it with a stitch.
6) The edges of the resulting part were swept on the overlock.
7) I stitched them, unfolded the seams and ironed them.
8) The 20x20 cm square was folded into four, marked 9.5 cm from the center of the mark and drew a semicircle, then cut off the excess along this line. It turned out to be a circle.
9) The circle and the 11 cm wide detail were swept from all sides. I stitched the strip, made 4 marks through the same distance, did the same on the circle.
10) Combined the labels and stitched, the upper part of the cap is ready.
11) Now I have stitched both parts, also according to the labels.
12) I made a crease in the back and sewed it by hand.
Can be worn.
The cap at the bottom turned out to be double, no wind is terrible.
