Britain’s flagship aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, departs to a cheering crowd ⚓️ 🇬🇧

Crowds turn out to wave off HMS Queen Elizabeth, Britain’s flagship aircraft carrier, as it departs Portsmouth for training ahead of deployment later this year. Police boats keep the channel clear, while tugs help to guide it out. HMS Queen Elizabeth is the first in class of Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers in service with the Royal Navy. The other is the HMS Prince of Wales, currently undergoing major repairs following damage to one of the propeller shafts on deployment last year. Both ships of their class are based at His Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth. If necessary, aircraft will land on deck out at sea.
