On June 3 2000, the penultimate fight of 35-year-old Andy Hug took place in a fight against 26-year-old Mirko Cro Cop. In this fight, Andy defended the WKA World Super Heavyweight ( 95 kg/209 lb) Muay Thai Championship, which he won in a fight against Sadau Kiatsongrit back in 1996 at K-1 Fight Night II, knocking out an opponent from Thailand in the second round. In this fight, Andy was unable to knock out the most dangerous Mirko Cro Cop, who at the time of 2000 was a finalist of the 1999 K-1 Grand Prix.
