NYPD endsed up arresting and getting violent with peaceful Ceasefire and Free Palestine protesters during the March for Palestine. As Ceasefire Now protesters marched east on 42nd street toward Fifth Avenue, police—and then media—claimed protesters were blocking an emergency vehicle trying to get to a potential grenade left in a nearby Uber. But our live footage CLEARLY shows that protesters were clearing to allow the emergency vehicle to pass through when a NYC police officer violently dragged a protester who was WALKING AWAY FROM HIM in front of the emergency vehicle—thus blocking the emergency vehicle from passing. Our footage shows it was the police—not the protesters—that created a violent melee that temporarily blocked the emergency vehicle from passing through to get to what was reported to be a non-functioning grenade.
