JVC World Sounds - Catalogue (1990)

A seemingly endless font of intriguing folk songs from around the world, it’s a testament to how powerful the CD as a medium was in the late 80s and early 90s. A collection that would have spanned multiple cumbersome LPs or sets of tapes is presented in an easily accessible format with stellar sound. JVC made further CDs delving into particular styles sampled here but they are unfortunately relatively rare and expensive to find today.
