Three Sahel states sign Cooperation Treaty

Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger have signed a treaty to form a ’Confederation of Sahel States.’ The agreement was reached during the first joint summit between the nations in Niger’s capital, with formal adoption expected later. At the summit, Burkinabe President Ibrahim Traore accused the West of exploiting Africa, asserting that things will now be different. Local journalist Timothy Obiezu reports.
