Floating Gin Palace (1968)

London. Crowded deck of Britain’s only coal burning paddle steamer, “Ryde“, Tower Bridge in background. Man shovelling coal into fire. People on a deck are served gin. Good shots of Tower Bridge as the boat steams under it. People on a deck are all dressed up in Edwardian clothes, they eat jellied eels, drink gin and even have Pearly Kings - several shots of them eating eels. Several nice shots of the boat on River Thames passing Greenwich. After so much gin, one is ready for a party - not with Edwardian music though, not so great for dancing. Succession of shots of people dancing, having a good time. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
