The “green-eyed“ taxi was named for its characteristic small green lantern, which was installed on the inside of the taxi’s windshield and meant that the car was free. Initially, the song was performed by Oleg Kvasha himself. In 1988, the Melodiya company decided to release a giant CD, on which each pop star had to sing two songs by Oleg Kvasha.
