Orlando (Amway) Arena Implosion

This is video footage I shot of the old Orlando Arena, or Amway Arena, being imploded on the morning of March 25th, 2012. The building was demolished at 7:30 AM EST. The ’O-Rena’ was opened to the public on January 29th, 1989, and was home to the Orlando Magic NBA basketball team, as well as a number of other sports teams. It served as Orlando’s main event venue for more than 20 years, eventually being replaced by the larger and more modern Amway Center in late 2010. The O-Rena was closed in September 2011 and sat empty for six months until it was finally demolished March 25. Personally, I visited the arena for many events, including several Orlando Magic basketball games, at least one Orlando Solar Bears hockey game, a Yanni concert, and the ’Dew Tour’ extreme sports event. The last event I witnessed inside the O-Rena was my younger brother’s high school graduation ceremony in June of 2010. This video was shot on March 25th, 2012 at 7:30 AM Eastern Standard Time,
