Footage of segments of the funeral held for Ho Chi Minh, the Marxist leader of what was then North Vietnam who oversaw the defeat of France in the first Indochina War, and who war with the United States South Vietnam would eventually lead to victory and the unification of Vietnam after his death. Among the foreign dignitaries in attendance were Prince Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia, Alexei Kosygin of the Soviet Union, President Gustav Husak of Czechoslovakia, and Vice President Li Xiannian of China.
