Military Working Horse Yogi has been awarded the PDSA Order of Merit Medal

Military Working Horse Lord Firebrand, fondly known as Yogi, has been awarded the PDSA Order of Merit Medal for his ten-year career of distinguished devotion to duty and service to society. Working for the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery from 2013 to 2023, Yogi has taken part in the full range of State Ceremonial and Public Duty (SCPD) activities throughout his ten-year career, such as the State Opening of Parliament, State Visits and Trooping the Colour. Due to his calm and reliable nature, Yogi has provided unique emotional support to his rider and showed exceptional bravery during the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations and the funeral of Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. For Yogi’s devotion to duty and unwavering service to society, he is a worthy recipient of the PDSA Order of Merit. For ten years, the PDSA Order of Merit, known as the animals’ OBE, has recognised animals that display outstanding devotion to their owner or wider society, going above and beyond normal companionship.
