Syrian fighters wield ’Z’ signs as Russia sends foreign fighters to front line

The video footage on the Russian defence ministry television channel was broadcast shortly after President Vladamir Putin announced he would be sending foreign volunteers to fight in his faltering invasion. Zvezda TV showed footage of the camouflage-clad gunmen holding posters with the ’Z’ symbol, as well as Syrian flags and banners of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
