Barbell chest press is applicable for beginners to professionals and is used to strengthen the chest muscle.
This movement is multi-joint and is one of the chest movements with barbell. Other parts of the muscles also have an auxiliary function, which include the front part of the head (anterior deltoid), triceps (back of the arm), forearm and core muscles.
How to execute the move
Barbell chest press
1) Lie on the chest press table and remove the barbell from its special place.
2) Remember that the range of motion is perpendicular to the pectoral muscle.
3) Lower the barbell in the negative direction, on the chest (tip of the chest).
4) Lower the weight until the elbows are at 90 degrees. This part of the exercise is the negative phase. In this section, do the tail operation.
5) Be careful that the barbell does not touch your chest.
