Wembley, London. M/S of man walking past stack of old, worn car tyres. The tyres will are to be recycled. Various M/Ss of tyre on stretching contraption. An expert inspects the tyre to see if it is suitable for recycling, he extracts stones and shreds of metal from treads. C/U of remaining treads being smoothed by man using buffing lathe. Another man then coats the smooth tyre in strip of fresh rubber. Various shots of tyre being placed in metal casing, another machine uses steam to mould new treads onto it.
