Nikolai Budashkin (1910-1988) grew up in Chita (Russian: Чита,; Buryat: Шэтэ, Shete; Mongolian: Чит, Chit) which is a city and the administrative center of Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia. located at the confluence of the Chita and Ingoda Rivers and on the Trans-Siberian Railway, 900 kilometers (560 mi) east of Irkutsk. He studied amongst others with Reinhold Gliere and Nikolai Myaskovsky. From 1938-1940 postgrad, student in instrumentation class, Moscow Conservatory. 1941-1944 composer, Political Board, Baltic Fleet, with rank of Senior Lieutenant, Administration Branch. 1945-1949 Deputy Artistic Director and composer, Osipov Russia Folk Orchestra. 1937-1939 board member, Moscow Department, Union of Composers.
