In the “Dreamtime“ lightning struck a stringybark tree and some splinters fell into the ocean and became the monukpuy Galpu and other splinters fell inland and became the raypinybuy Galpu, that was the creation of the Galpu nation. That’s why Lightning is such an important symbol to the Galpu, they are Baywara people, people of the Lightning.
